When Joker Gets Serious

“Accidents don’t happen to people who take accidents as a personal insult” – Micheal Corleone from GodFather.

Today I am gonna tell you a story about a Joker. Don’t get the meaning ofJoker” wrong. The Joker here is not exactly a clown in a circus but he has got the common attributes of every clown. “To laugh and make others laugh.” Joker has mastered this art and often seeks a thrill, kick and pleasure out of his act. Even if he is sad, depressed and cries within, he masks with a comical make up which evokes laughs all around. The ambiance of Joker is sparkled and recharged with his presence. No one ever complained with his traits. Infact they thoroughly enjoyed his antics. Everything seemed perfect until something happened..

Like the greedy mob of ancient Rome, people around Joker were getting bored of him. Joker was one of those wise men who accept being a fool and use this knowledge of fact as a means to entertain others. But fate had left him with the last laugh in his life. People started taking Joker for granted and started making frivolous remarks. Joker, the poor chap realized this, gave up his to-be-cliched styles and tried to explore new means of entertaining people. Joker didn’t know that he couldn’t stretch himself beyond a limit. But then, he tried and never ever gave up. All his sincere attempts were in vain, his efforts were in drain. His Faith in Pure happiness was no less than a joke now. Soon Joker began to lose his smile on face, the very identity and the reason for his existence. The warmth of sunshine is gone..Enter the light in the darkness.

The world snatched his identity
Gone is the bliss, His Life in Abyss…

True to the meaning of lines from GodFather, “there comes a time when the most humble of men, if he keeps his eyes open, can take his revenge on the most powerful”, Joker forgot his hearty laughs and got slickly serious. His smile now gives the misconception of being so pristine that life itself is jealous of Joker. The real fun he derives now is not only in acting as a fool but also in making others who ridicule him accept their ignorance. He is now an outward mirror to the inner ugly reality that the world thrives on – The Zeal to outgrow.

When life turns out to be a big joke, you are lucky if you can understand and laugh with it. Joker was one such lucky person for whom it was no big deal to mock others. Anyone who now mocks Joker will get to know the true meaning of sarcasm. There cannot be any ersatz feeling which can satiate the thirst of Joker. He understands perfectly now that dignity and honor are just a state of being and one need not worry too much to try showcasing it to the shameless world outside. His motto “To make everyone everywhere look like him”.

Hate Him, Loathe Him But You Cannot Ignore Him.

PS: Inspired from Joker in DarkKnight, GodFather and ofcourse from Life..

Indian Voting Anomalies..

I asked many frens if they voted this time. Some said their names were not listed in the election voters list. This is a very serious issue considering majority of the educated do not get to vote.
Lets do some rough estimations. If out of 100% eligible voters, ony 40 to 60% names enter in the voting list, out of which an average 60% attend for voting , then at best only 36% of actual eligible voters are voting in the country. Note that the percentages are higher in rural areas which compensates our average voting percentage. So who are actually voting? The villagers who are very easily susceptible to freebies? Not so with every village for sure, considering 2 villages this time have not supported voting in their regions!! But it is very clear that the elite educated junta voters get a minor role to play in terms of numbers. So this leads us to ask are we really a democratic country where leaders are chosen by 'chosen few'? To make matters worse we can add voting malpractices and unethical political campaigns to this issue .

So many discrepancies in the real voting list vis-a-vis the actual voters. Some direct observations/ resentments about the same..

1.If a person lives in a colony for years,his/her name is registered but not all of his family members names may be registered!! Worse the entire family doesn't get to vote.

2. If a name exists in a voter list, he/she may not exist in that region.

3. Many eligible voters such as working class people out of their native place live out of their constituencies(where they received voter card, usually native place).

Imagine how many constituencies and thereby how many eligible votes are actually lost due to above reasons.

One may ask What is the CEO(Chief Election Commission) doing in this regard? CEO has to survey properly much much before election time, ensure every person living in the constituency gets to have his/her name in the voters list. Even if they do this process, a serious lapse and irresponsibility in delivering voters card and electoral lists really makes us helpless in rectifying the defects (misprints/wrong address etc). They have to release the electoral list for each constituency and let some transparency for people to approach them in case of any problems. These rectifications process have to be really very simple and convenient for junta else we will be fed up as every other government work we face. Let the constituency junta know about the list, go to them and install a stall, ask them to come at a specific day and time to get their names registered etc.. I feel government should tie up with professional private organizations to involve in such works, if it is really troublesome for them to conduct the elections. Irony, i know. When a Cricket World Cup, Olympics Games ,FIFA world Cup event planning starts 2 years before the event, cannot our government be little more active for 1 yr atleast before elections kickstarts?

We heard a lot about the only website we had for any help during elections. Jaagore was really helpful but not everyone in the country can take that route. (Only net savvy, literates would use that option). I agree people are really unaware and mostly helpless even if they have strong desire to see their name in the voting list. Voters card is still not a mandatory as any identity card would do at electoral booth. I feel we as voters should keep a track of our status of voters card/name in list provided we have the means for it. But how many of us actually do it? We will simply procrastinate and would not take atleast as seriously as our credit card or any other bills. Shame on those who are enjoying election day as simply a holiday. It is a decisive day which decides our country's direction of progress for another 5 years.

On a ending note I would like to ask how many of you actually did vote? If you had any above mentioned issue, then hopefully next time you wouldn't sit idle doing nothing about it. If you had everything but still didn't vote, then you must be one of those pessimists who does nothing thinking everything is/would be wrong anyways OR you would be one among the shameless lazy asses who simply can't go to polling booth.

We don't need any celebs telling us to vote. Don't we know it already? I am happy to see that everyone is really now frustrated with the mess in politics and everyone is politically aware. There's so much anger and questions we want to shoot to our leaders which I am sure our leaders would find no answers.Politics has become a bigger business than IPL. But ethical and decent players such as LokSatta have chipped in this time and I hope this would spell a cascading effect by next elections. Five years from now, I want to see a significant increase(to 80% atleast with more educated voters) in actual voters if not 100%.

I will sign off with Gandhi's ever lasting words-" Be the Change You Want to See in this World.. "

A Voter's Dilemma..

Its been 3 days since i voted (on April 16th) for the first time in my life. I always wanted to but 5 yrs before couldn't get chance and before that i was only a teenager, not wise enough to choose a leader. (the rationale behind the rule? ). I took pride that atleast on one day in 5 yrs of my life, I think about my government and the leaders i want. There were few issues which i was keen to put on this space. (Fundamental Right to express.. )

I honestly voted for the leader and party i wanted after having quite a dilemma with the mathematics involved behind voting numbers. Firstly lets say a party X is not the hot-spot in a particular region and you know for sure that party Y is going to win (not because it has done good works in the past but '
coz it was good in corrupting people with money and liquor during election time), whom do you vote for? Will you vote for some other party Z even if you still know that finally Y is gonna win? YES, you say. We tend to think that no matter we vote or don't it is X which is gonna win finally. I had a dilemma as if I was wasting my vote by voting to a underdog in my region. On discussion with my frens, I realized that even if party X doesn't win , it will have its own analysis of win/defeat for a particular region that in turn would help for next election or for forming a coalition if reasonable seats are achieved. But more than this logic, its the philosophy behind the small story which i read when i was kid that motivated me to vote for the choice of my heart.

The story is the famous 'Akbar-
Birbal' in which Birbal, the minister wanted to test if people feared Akbar, the Emperor. It was suggested that all Citizens pour a jug of milk into an empty tank at night, if the tank was filled with milk it will mean that the citizens were honest even when no one was watching. In the morning, Akbar and Birbal went to the tank and it was full of not milk but water. Every one in the town took for granted that other person would pour the milk in the can and so they can simply mix water saving their quantity of milk. But the same wrong thought when occurred and repeated with each person has a extreme opposite effect of what is really expected. I simply did not wanted to be one of those ignorant town-dwellers.

From the moral of the story, I doubted if everyone thinks and has the same dilemma as i did, everyone would vote for the opposite party of their choice, eventually downplaying their choice -party X. But on a optimistic note, what if everyone really knew the moral and are voting with their conscience, not being a victim to money/liquor to vote for the parasites of country? Then I would be the one who actually did a mistake. I may not surprise now if party X in my region wins and that day my dear
frens, the moral is really understood.

I reiterate that do not simply downplay a party and taken a win/lose of some other party for granted. It is finally US who are deciding the fate of those parties. So Lets vote with our conscience and reasons being indifferent to any undue dilemmas.

PS: I will discuss more actively about politics in future as I feel i am one of those frustrated souls who have many ideas to put forward before government but know for sure that all my calls would go unheeded..If you are reading this, I guess you must be the same too ;)

Back to My World..

Hi All.. It's been a year since i used this space which i used to fill with the ink of my thoughts. Many a times I felt, I should get back to blogging and air my opinions but I could not do so. I can escape saying I was busy with other things in life but I must say, that there were many topics and my perceptions of life which I could not vent out openly because when you perceive about something in life and judge your likes and dislikes, either it is about something or about others. I wanted to share how uncomfortable i felt about many things i see and experience in life but at the back of my mind, i took a defensive stand and did not wanted to create a friction writing about something very real only to make it appear as a fiction!! A wrong doer quickly identifies when right words are used. I did not wanted to be the man who makes other guilty about their actions.

Then why am i back here again? Will I cut off all those topics in my discussions here or do i not care about what others think about my thinking? Well it's a gutsy feeling I have got that its the latter part. I believe that as long as you can be rational with your actions, one need not fear/worry about others. Life has left the same void in me like the void i have created in this blog but it taught me a lot in the past one year and I want to share the way it amuses me daily. I hope I would learn more from you readers in this journey.

I was away from books for 3 years now. I was in a belief that i have nothing more to learn from books. They can only narrate others perceptions about something but can never make me experience those. So i choose to be curious in my own way and learn everything from life which comes in my way. The experience has been terrific. But I must admit books are indispensable because by reading others opinions I reinforce my thoughts of a relative world where each individual lives in his/her own frame. (Will write a detailed post on this relativity later). But i have learned the quality of questioning, analyzing and appreciating the author's ideas in a book. What he/she may believe may not be the same as i see this world. But it has to have some magic in terms of narration, ideas or characters or entertainment. Unless the author does not compel me with his/her narration i simply cannot finish reading a book till the last line. Very soon I got bored with routine spice and movie way of story telling books.

Few weeks ago i read "The White Tiger" by "Arvind Adiga" who received Booker prize for the same. I read the book in one go and frankly, there was nothing new i could learn from it let alone have some entertainment from the book. (except for one scene in book where a inspection officer visits the protagonists school calling him The White Tiger). After that scene from book, I started expecting more and more vigor in the following pages but soon they died out. I mean I read a whole book and one page is what i liked? Its just a average book i felt. With all due respect Arvind, it was purely a personal opinion.

I have started "The Virtue of Selfishness" by Ayn Rand these days and I have started to sketch the details of my very own book which i planned from a couple of years now. Will keep you posted once it starts materializing. I did not like Ayn Rand objectivism philosophy five years ago but something has changed in me that I am back to those books again. Don't ask me "Why?"

Well not sure where to kick start my next topic here because I got lot many to choose among. Any ideas?

PS: I have changed some template HTML settings in this blog to create more space for text content. I do not want any more void to remain within ;)

Death- The Elixir of Life?

Its been a month since i used my blog space and today i had to come back because today is a special. A day in which someone reminds me my lessons about life. It's the b'day of my fren-Gautam Reddy, who is not in this world today to celebrate his b'day. Pray with me for his soul to rest in peace. (and plz be patient to read till the end)

I knew Gautam for over 6 yrs from our IIT JEE prep days. The first time when i met him(17 yrs old), he was talking about Abdul Kalam's Wings of Fire. A gifted Mathematician who was known for his laziness and carefree attitude towards life. Took his JEE prep from Ramiah but sticked to his casual attitude. Unfortunately for the reasons best known to him he got a border rank and repeated again for a year to get a better rank. This is where i knew him closely when we enrolled in the same coaching center.

He was a uber cool guy, often bunked most of his classes (when most people bury their heads in books), but still got a AIR 300's rank in IIT JEE screening test 2001. OK, Screening test wasn't a big deal but it was surprising to see a guy with often no books cracking it confidently. Murphy hit him again in final stage of JEE (we happened to take test at the same center and wished each other before the exam begun). Call it fate or bad luck, the most deserving guy was again setback to a border rank. No big deal! Often happens in a competitive entrance exam. but the surprising thing was Gautam himself mocking his performance by often saying "I knew that i am gonna screw it!!" . Among the people who often crave for more or rue their past, this guy i found stands apart.

I got enrolled in IIT Roorkee and later i came to know that this guy too got enrolled at same college but in a different place, Department of Paper Technology- Saharanpur which is very well a integral part of IIT R located in a different place. So we met a couple of times in A.P.Express (Delhi to Hyderabad and viceversa) talking in length about anything. I found this guy hadn't even changed a bit, thinks nothing about career and often pleasures himself with fun. Again among the people in my college who are too worried planning and shaping their lives, this again stands apart. Some may find him eccentric but he was actually unique.

Ask his any classmate of DPT, saharanpur they would say that he is the most gifted, coolest and laziest guy they ever saw. Spent most of his time sleeping even before exams and still managed to end up with some decent grades. Used to slog one novel a week. This is the pic he liked the most- Orochimaru from animie Naruto. He was placed in Wipro at college placements but he bagged a different job even before he joined Wipro, Yasu Technologies at Hyderabad (Taken over by SAP now). Interview was full of puzzles and it was a cake walk for this maths wizard.

Everything went smoothly for a year. He even attempted CAT 2006 for fun (mostly without any prep) and ended up at 99.xx %ile only not being able to clear cut off in Verbal!! It was in July 2007 that one day i got a news from a fren in his office that Gautam is drowned in Nagarjun Sagar, where they went for a company team outing!! All kind of mixed reactions..It just sent a chill in my spine. God only knows what their family might have gone through. To end a life in just 23 yrs...its not it..not the way it was supposed to be. But it did!!

My fren Gautam is gone now but he taught me a lesson about life which is Death !! No problem now seems too big & worthy enough to me to worry. Why do we have so many expectations from life? Why we are too worried every moment about shaping our future? and that too at what cost? In the journey of life we travel too quickly that we often miss the beauties in our journey, the small pleasures in life. Our family, our frens for whom we never took out some time to talk from heart, we may never have such chance again. Our genuine interests which we often ignored by being submissive to the daily rigmaroles of life, we may not get a second chance to fulfill them.

Gautam is not here but he will remind me about the way of life. He is sleeping in heaven but he will ask me to take rest when i forget to take a nap in a busy day. He will show me the beauty of nature by drawing a rainbow for me. He will rain asking me not to get drenched by not worrying about any costly clothes i wear. He will remind me to do only the things i like the most. He will slow me down when i am too busy chasing my life for no worthwhile reason.

Many are often scared of death but the notion of death in itself is misleading. It shouldn't be a fear or skepticism about the future. Instead it's a gift, a reminder which reminds us that Life is too short and not to wait any too longer thinking that we have all the time in the world to live it later!! This is the only shot we have. No second chances. The notion of Death should free all our fears from life. Infact I believe its an Elxir of life which guides us without having to take it. Remember it's the notion of death thats important but not death itself.

Live life for the sake of living and for nothing else...

PS: Post dedicated to my beloved friend Gautam Reddy. May God give strength & support to his family.

V'Day Special- Love is in the air

Yesterday (V’Day) is gone to leave many of us happy. Also that brings us to discuss the relevance it apparently has. We all know the St. Valentine history, so let’s keep it aside and instead talk about the things we got to see yday. Did you say ‘Red’? Yeah, apparels, roses, gift shops & even websites – everything was flashy Red. Ofcourse the protests of some parochial political parties (P.P.P) were expected. FYI, I am not one in those P.P.P's.

Arguably V’Day can also be celebrated by singles. Read this article if you are one of them. But let’s talk about the ‘real’ Valentines- the Cupid Couples- the so called lovers who are apparently bound by a strong glue (read Fevicol) called ‘Love’.

Why does a person of one gender is attracted to a person of opposite gender? (Consider only Normal Indian Scenarios). Why does everyone look for a Girl Friend(GF)/Boy Friend(BF). Some reasons I could find were

  1. Nature- It’s designed that way.

  1. Physics- Unlike poles attract

  1. Chemistry- As a person attains maturity, the chemical changes in the hypothalamus creates a fascination for the opposite gender. All the instructions passed by brain are followed by heart. I guess Sigmund Freud can explain more.

  1. Social & Personal- The world is a small place now & the outlook of people has been changing. Religion, nationality, language, caste though still exist, they are not taken too seriously by Gen-X. More importantly the ‘arranged marriage’ concept is not something liked by everybody. So before their parents could find a match, guys get desperate to find one, not even evaluating if he/she is the ‘Right Choice’. Personally when someone is bored of loneliness or bored of the routine friends in life they get a fling to 'look for a change'.

  1. Status Symbol- This is the hard fact why so many pairs evolve everyday. Like our every other need (Cell phone, bikes etc), having a GF/BF has become mandatory. If you say you don’t have one, thousands frown at you (though they themselves are no different). They ridicule you as if you have missed one of the necessities of life. Phony isn’t it? To save face from all such embarrassments, we tell ourselves ‘to give it a shot’.

  1. Movies- How can we forget the celluloid love? People fancy the idea of their favorite hero serenading their dream heroin. They tend to copy the reel life in their real life. Nothing sells like ‘Love’ in movies.

  1. Other Reasons- All that reasons which mean to take ‘undue advantage’ (monetary, lust, selfish motives etc) of other person fall under this category.

I don’t mean to say that there is no ‘Love’ at all around us. But if it falls under the above last four categories then certainly its not ‘love’, just an infatuation. The word ‘love’ itself is so clichéd today that you can’t identify ‘apparent love from a ‘real love’. All thanks to our media, movies and technology. Imagine ‘loving’ someone without even having to see them or without even talking to them!! A single glance can make someone dance thinking they have fallen in love and yes they give a name too-- ‘Love at First sight’. We can list many other crazier versions of love.

If we were to draw a fine line between this ‘apparent’ and ‘real’, it’s very difficult. Ostensibly this ‘apparent’ love fails for sure when it comes to commitment to leading a life together and ‘real’ love succeeds. If it couldn’t then perhaps we are mistaken and we should place that in ‘apparent love’ category too. Ask someone if he/she is going to marry his GF/BF and quite often you may get to hear "Who does want to marry dude? I'm just having a nice time."

There may be innumerable reasons for liking one person. But liking someone doesn’t imply that you tend to love that person. Further loving someone doesn’t mean you can lead a life with that person. In this regard, I very much appreciate the western culture where the societal conditions doesn’t refrain them from doing what they don’t want to do. If they think they haven't made the right choice then they are free to get over it and yes then start looking for a new one.

Things are way emotional in India. Once they make a choice they stick to it for the rest of their lives even if the choice is a wrong one. Its not a open society where you can very honestly flirt with the opposite gender. You have to give some name to it- Love, Commitment, whatever.. And if we Indians choose not to be a hypocrite in love then we remain single.

If you think you ‘really’ love someone then why choose V’Day as the only day in the year to express your love? Adhering to some rules you don’t even know why? C’mon it’s never too early or too late to express your love. Why wait for Feb 14th only to ruin the colorful day of singles? (You should have seen some of my friend’s yday). Just Fudge Feb Fourteenth.

Like a poet, everyone tries to feel the ubiquitous presence of love. They say- Like a mellifluous tune, like a refreshing fragrance, Love is in the air. It’s there everywhere, except in the only place it was meant to be- Our Hearts!!

PS: There's a very genuine relationship which one can make with the opposite gender- Friendship. But i choose not to speak about that here. It's a debatable issue and we can have a different post altogether.

Aliens on the Roads

Taking cue from the title, don't guess that i am going to talk about Spielsberg ET, shot in Hyderabad(Hyd). Its about very humans but you will get to know shortly why i am alluding them to aliens. In my earlier posts we have talked on a individual level but for a change let's talk now on a social level. About the daily things which we are a part of.

Before we start lets take a look at our daily traffic sense we have. I'm not sure if this was shot in Hyd but definitely in India. Well the situation in Hyd is more worse than this.

Today it slightly drizzled in Hyd and it was a mayhem out there.

The cacophonic roads, the vehicles jostling for space in the narrow roads, deafening horn sounds, potholes filled with water, sewage flowing freely, roadsides filled with garbage & colored spits and above all vehicle drivers hurrying to reach their destinations…This is the face of road transportation of 21st century India.

“Nothing can be done about this, Look at the U.S or any other foreign country road infrastructure. Our traffic is just hopeless”. This is what to get to hear from everyone about our daily road traffic. Like U.S, Everyone wants scenic road drive filled with woods, waterfalls, super speed 8 lane flyovers and what not!! Guys..Hang on a minute..We are missing something here..The existing conditions of our country is related to our past. India was under the rule of emperors, kings, sultans, nawabs for over a thousand of years. It is a war filled history with countless and ruthless battles. At the latest for more than two centuries we were under imperial British rule who introduced the modern transportation in our country. (Of Course it was for their own benefit). Thus our landscape for transportation had taken a transformation from thousands of years. Compared to this U.S had a peaceful landscape from 4 centuries. It’s a capitalist dominated country whose economic, social conditions are way different to ours. So lets stop criticizing our road system and try to fig out why we couldn’t be them? Is it only b’coz of our Government? Yes and No!!

Firstly let’s talk about our infrastructure and Government (GHMC in hyd) lackadaisical attitude towards our roads.

The Govt. is certainly responsible for allowing many illegal constructions which narrowed down our available space for roads. Thanks to some of our corrupted officials. Lack of planning, and the delay in implementing the projects has only added to the misery. Further we are not even quality conscious about our constructions. Look at the recently Flyover crash down due to a normal rain, which happened in Hyderabad at Panjagutta area. It took many lives of people who were caught in cars, and motor vehicle drivers. Gammon Industries Ltd, which took the contract of the project, got away with a paltry 10% fine in the project fee. The other direction of the flyover towards Hitech city is yet to be completed.

The route I take to office passes by Nalgonda X roads at Malakpet. Last year it was one of the traffic intensive, narrow junction where traffic is bound to be stagnated at office hours. I used to observe the traffic daily and tried to fig out the reason for such a pathetic state. One such observation I found was the poor quality of the road for a few meters. This meant to slow down all the vehicles, particularly cars and buses. Like they say “a group can be as fast as the slowest one”. I had been hoping that short length of road be patched asap but months passed by and nothing changed. I was so fed up being stuck at that place that I wanted to take the charge myself by taking the photo of that pathetic road and send it to TOI “Times Impact” column where they call the authorities for such urgent repairs. Later the road was fixed very quickly at office hours only because a minister was about to pass that way!! Such favoritism of rulers towards rulers.

It’s a havoc in the rainy season with the quality less roads forming pot holes and the water remaining still on it. Complain to the officials and all they can do is to open the manholes without any warning boards.

The lazy GHMC wakes up late than the common people and start their duties when the city rushes for their daily activities. GHMC duty is to carry the garbage on the vehicles and dump it at unmanned places. They want to mark the city as ‘clean and green’ and they water the plants on the dividers at very late in the morning, with their water tanker moving at snails pace and making the roads wet & slippery, only to pose obstruction & danger to vehicles.

I wonder why the civic authorities do not inspect the roads atleast once in a week. Let them drive by not getting any VIP no traffic treatment and then they will know, what it is like to drive on a unsecured roads. No one is sure if one is going to return home once they set out for their destinations.

In the name of road repair, our Govt. digs out a perfect road and again lays the road only to keep contractors busy who pay commission to them. The reasons are many for the existing infrastructure but why is that there’s a commotion everyday on road within this available infrastructure. Certainly the Govt. is not responsible for this. It is us!! We are equally part of the problem but never choose to be part of the solution which is with us.

Some of us are too lazy to get up early and thereby hurry to reach our destinations, even if it meant to drive like a wanton. We don’t even have the minute consideration for others while we drive. In this regard we not only lack civic sense but also common sense. Why is that RTC buses drive on the right side and take a steep cut to the bus stops on the left? Why is that the bikers cruise their way in zigzag motion without having to think about the drivers behind him? Why is that we uncivilizedly spit on the roads & sometimes on others, as if we lack the basic education? Why can’t we just stop for a moment to let other person cross by? Why is that the pedestrians stand and stare at the vehicles in the middle of the road? We are to be blamed completely for all the above questions.

I have only addressed the unsurmountable problem but I have to agree the solution is not going to be easy. First the Govt. should enforce strict laws for rule breakers. When the Hyd traffic police can be successful in implementing compulsory helmet rule then why not with every other rule connected to traffic? Petty it may seem but why choose a blind eye towards them. Often the traffic obstruction is due to some senseless drivers.Unfortunately they are in majority. Hawkers, beggars, cycle peddlers, autos can only aggravate the problem. Signal jumpers, wrong lane drivers, no license drivers, drunken drivers, road spitters ..everyone has to be fined severely for the smallest ignorance they feel they did. Give the bills and send it to the wrong doers home for them to pay within a limited time. Surely the Govt is doing some of them but we do know how they get implemented. I got a bill once and the reason they gave was for my signal jumping which was dated 3 months back!! Such a pathetic pace. The traffic police is the one of the most demeaned part of Govt in the city now. Every one knows it’s O.K to have some bucks rather than carrying all papers with them. When given a choice by them we chose to pay him his commission rather than paying challan for the mistake we did. Officials are raven for wrong doers every day and they fine them not to teach them the laws but to fill their own pockets. Come a weekend, and its party time not only for public but also for officials. This manual challan should be either done neatly or it should be done away totally only to get replaced by bills which are to be sent to home immediately. Also CCTV's and advanced technology should be used to monitor the traffic flow. This might lower the corruption in the traffic department to a extent. Increase the means of public transport. MMTS connecting the entire city are going to be launched but hopeful only atleast after 4 yrs from now.

We can question ourselves for how we drive everyday. Do our actions trouble our fellow road users? If the answer is yes then its time we inculcate some civic sense and common sense too. We find a red signal and we know we should stop until green. Isn’t that simple common sense? Only wild bulls charge at seeing something red!! We don't wear the helmets which are meant for our safety and protects us from inhaling the polluted emissions of vehicles. So out of suffocation we spit on our roads. Lets not even talk about the pan and zarda chewers. Isn’t it common sense for the users to try to keep the roads clean by not spoiling it? We horn that extra decibels unnecessesarily when we know that there’s no way the traffic can be moving. Not only we don't follow the traffic rules but we do not allow others to follow them. Isn’t it common sense to keep our vehicle mouth shut in such a situation? Isn't it common sense to put on our indicator(or the least hand gestures) when we take a right or left turn? Never a day passes when we don't use the F-word while driving which is the result of our anger & frustration due to the chaotic traffic. Even the most educated throw garbage and piss on the roadsides. They shrug away saying "It's Hyderabad dude, not U.S." Yes this will remain just a Hydbad and never reach U.S standards until we stop saying that.

We just pass by without giving a dime when a person is hurt with accident. Isn’t it human to help that person? I believe we all do have that common sense coz we all are humans. So Lets try to be humans..not aliens on the roads..
